Adoption Assistance

JHA was founded with the goal to "give" - give families a friendly and supportive agency, give our children a sense of belonging and community and give back to the country that has shared so much with us.

We continually are working on humanitarian aid programs that will benefit the orphans and families seeking to adopt them. Our goal is to bring as many children home as possible and give opportunities to those waiting. We understand that the fees associated with International Adoption may seem out of reach for some families. In effort to bring as many children into loving homes as possible, the team at JHA and its group of adoption advocacy volunteers have joined together to help offer the following programs to help offset adoption expenses for families who join our program.

We are excited to introduce three new programs available for JHA Families!

Adoption Expense Assistance, Adoption Discounts and Humanitarian Aid Assistance

Adoption Fee Reduction Based on Income

Journey Home is pleased to offer families expense discounts for Agency Fees*, to help offset their adoption expenses.

Beginning July 1, 2007, all families accepted into the JHA Republic of Kazakhstan program, who meet all program requirements will receive a reduction in agency fees as follows:

Total family income of less than $40,000 regardless of number of children currently in the home 20%

Total family income of less than $45,000 regardless of number of children currently in the home 15%

Total family income of less than $50,000 regardless of number of children currently in the home 10%

***Families must meet normal application guidelines to be accepted and income will be based on what is filed on the most recent Federal tax return.

Adoption Expense Assistance

The Adoption Expense Assistance program was developed by JHA and our volunteer team to help raise funds that will offset adoption expenses for families who meet all adoption requirements for the Republic of Kazakhstan and fall within a minimum combined salary range of $50,000 annually or below. Donations for this fund will be solicited as well as fund raising efforts by the staff at JHA, our volunteers and families in the process of adopting. You need not participate in the fund raising to receive the benefits, but all helping hands are welcome. Annually, the funds collected will be divided and disbursed as a one time payout to all families meeting the program guidelines. Families may only receive the Expense Assistance payout once per adoption. Value of the payout will vary. Please contact us for more information.

Humanitarian Aid Cost Reduction

The Humanitarian Aid Cost Reduction discount will be available for ALL families adopting with JHA who have been accepted into our Republic of Kazakhstan Adoption Program. Our goal is to collectively raise enough money to offset the suggested donation fee for humanitarian aid donations of approximately $200 per family through fund raising efforts. Some programs we will be rolling out in the coming months to fund this initiative include:

**Afghans for Orphans Fund Raiser** **Cafe Press Associate Program - Kazakh T-shirts and JHA supplies!* **Kazakh Cookbook Sales**

**Holiday Fund Raising Drive** **Help The Orphans Raffle" and many fund raisers that can be found on the JHA Marketplace! Take a look!

This program will be offered to families joining JHA after June of 2007. A one time disbursement per adoption, will be paid as a cash reimbursement for humanitarian aid items or provided through physical donations that will be hand carried to Kazakhstan. Disbursements will be made annually in June and families will receive an equally divided portion of the funds collected, not to exceed $200 per family. If excess funds should be available, the funds will be distributed on a larger scale to a baby house or orphanage in need of assistance.
